 Mission Statement

Make A Change International is a global humanitarian organization that provides medical care and public health education to underserved communities by supporting health care professionals and graduate students on medical service trips throughout the world with the ultimate goal of implementing opportunities to deliver sustainable health care.

"Be the change you want to see in the world"

- Ghandi

 Our Purposes

The Corporation, Make A Change International, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt not-for-profit organized exclusively as a charitable organization for the purposes of providing health care services internationally to underprivileged and underserved communities and supporting health care professionals in the costs of providing those health care services.

 A Global Effect

To have an effect is to make a change that is the direct result of an action, an impact that comes when something is done. Our goal is to make it possible for those equipped with medical skills and knowledge to take action, make a change, and see impact in underserved communities all over the world.

 Our Name & Logo

Everything should have meaning behind it, and an organization that hopes to truly make a difference around the world should too. The name "Make A Change International" was inspired by the song, Man in the Mirror, by Michael Jackson. Aaron was performing the song at a talent show, and singing the words caused them to stick deep and have new meaning for his life, and hopefully will inspire others in a new way as well.

"I'm Gonna Make A Change, For Once In My Life
It's Gonna Feel Real Good, Gonna Make A Difference
Gonna Make It Right

I'm Starting With The Man In the Mirror
I'm Asking Him To Change His Ways
And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place
Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change"

                                                                                          - Michael Jackson

Our logo was also designed to have meaning behind it. We utilized the delta symbol, which is the greek symbol for change. In our logo, this also functions for the "A". The three lines that make up the delta also symbolize the three goals we have within the organization: (1) to help support global medical mission endeavors, (2) to partner with other organizations and build relationships to help further current endeavors, and (3) establish clinics around the world that will provide long-term and self sustainable care. The three colors also have meaning: orange is considered the color of health, blue the color of depth and stability, and black is the base because it is foundational.

  • We believe in transparency. We are up front about where our donations go, and if there are ever questions, we welcome you to ask.

  • The money we raise is used to support medical professionals to pay for the costs associated with doing global medical service work.

    • Includes medical doctors, physician assistants, nurses, occupational/physical therapists, other health care workers, or graduate-level students of these disciplines.

    • The purpose of the service trip must be to primarily provide medical services (medical care, health education, addressing public health needs, etc).

    • The service trip again must be in an underserved community in the world.

    • Our main focus is to reach underprivileged communities in third world countries; however, "global health" includes service to all communties and more local service opportunities may be supported.

  • Support includes, but is not limited to:

    • Costs associated with travel (both international flights and local travel), overseas food/water and lodging, travel vaccinations, and medical supplies.

    • Opportunities and connections for global medical service work.

  • This organization is partnered with individuals and organizations of religious and non-religious backgrounds. The primary purpose of all trips must be focused around addressing medical needs; however, showing love and compassion, and bringing hope and healing through other modalities, such as religion or music, increases the effect we have on communities. A service trip that incorporates these other methods of healing along with medicine may also be supported, providing that they are respectful of all individuals in the group and most importantly, respectful of the cultural and religious beliefs of the communities being reached.

  • Individuals and groups of any religious or non-religious background may be supported.

  • Each year there will be some costs associated with keeping the organization running, which include costs of filing paperwork with the government, legal fees, website costs, and other small costs deemed necessary to effectively run the corporation.
