Lisa Welch is a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She first earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Western Michigan University in 2005, with minors in Early Childhood, Math, Science, and Integrated Creative Arts. Lisa was an elementary and middle school teacher for four years in New Bern, North Carolina. She absolutely loves working with children, but always had a passion for the medical field. She pursued her dream in 2012 by earning her Associate Degree in Nursing from Craven Community College in New Bern, North Carolina. During that time, she served as the President of the Student Nurse Association and was involved in numerous community service projects and events. After she obtained her license as a Registered Nurse, Lisa worked in the Emergency Room for two years at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern, North Carolina. She moved back home to Michigan with her family in 2015, and began working at Henry Ford Hospital. Lisa was nominated for the Nursing Henry Award in 2017 for recognition of her excellence in patient care. She plans to continue her education by obtaining her Master’s Degree in Nursing. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, music, exercising, being outdoors, and traveling.
