Dr. Tom Smoot is an emergency medicine clinical pharmacist. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry from Mount St. Mary’s University in 2007 and his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Maryland in 2011. After earning his PharmD, he completed his PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY-2 Critical Care residencies at Henry Ford Hospital. Throughout high school, college and pharmacy school Tom enjoyed participating in a wide range of community service activities. In 2010, he was awarded the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship for developing a clinic to provide pharmacy services to HIV-positive patients in an underserved area of Baltimore. This experience sparked an interest in providing healthcare to underserved populations and he is ecstatic to have the opportunity to participate on an international level.
